KUALA LUMPUR, 2nd October 2017

The Malaysian government today appointed Business Integrity Alliance (BIA) as the government’s ‘smart partner’ in combating private sector corruption.
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Prime Minister’s Department and BIA, a business-led coalition of companies working together to identify integrity challenges, advocate for change, and share best practice. The BIA’s pioneer partners are Digi, Top Glove, Thumbprints United and Trident Integrity Solutions.
In line with the National Key Result Area (NKRA) of fighting corruption, BIA will act as the government’s facilitator to bring together private companies, academic institutions, civil society organisations, and government agencies to collectively overcome corruption factors affecting the business environment.
Secretary-General of BIA, Dr Mark Lovatt, said ‘We are very pleased to have signed the memorandum today with the Prime Minister's Department. We look forward to partnering with the Government and Integrity Division (BITU) of the Prime Minister’s Department to substantially improve the commercial climate of Malaysia for companies seeking to do business with integrity.’
